Countries can from now on sign agreements between each-other.
New agreements are voted by the Government. It is also the Government who can revoke an already signed agreement.
We distinguish two type of agreements: Economic and War.
Economic agreements can be found in the Country -> Agreements menu (if enabled in Profile -> GUI Preferences).
War agreements are under development and will be available in a later stage.
Countries can choose between the following war agreements:
Alliance (only if no MMPP or NAP) - military mutual alliance between two countries; partners can help in attack or defense
- bilateral agreement
Costs: (sum of both countries total population/100)/2 - both countries have to pay
Duration: 30 days
Special notes:
1) If ally is attacked:
- a) if WJ on attacker is under 50 (calculated at the time of attack):
President has to choose whether to defend the ally or not; if choice is not made in max. 3 days, it is regarded as a refuse
If refused to defend ally, alliance is revoked and your former ally gets "Treason" CB on you
Neighboring countries get +10 WJ on you, allies of target +15 all others +5
- b) if WJ on attacker is 50 or more:
Automatically get involved in the war on your ally's side without any WJ penalty
2) If ally attacks a country:
you can join on attacking side with no WJ penalty, but you need at least 60 WJ on the target country
Mutual military protection pact (MMPP) (only if no Alliance or NAP) - between two countries; partner can help only in defense
- bilateral agreement
Costs: (sum of both countries total population/100)/4 - both countries have to pay
Duration: 30 days
Special notes:
1) If partner is attacked:
- a) if WJ on attacker is under 50 (calculated at the time of attack):
President has to choose whether to defend the partner or not; if choice is not made in max. 3 days, it is regarded as a refuse
If refused to defend partner, MMPP is revoked and your former partner gets "Treason" CB on you
Neighboring countries get +10 WJ on you, allies of target +15 all others +5
- b) if WJ on attacker is 50 or more:
Automatically get involved in the war on your ally's side without any WJ penalty
Non-Aggression Pact (NAP) (only if no Alliance or MMPP) - signing countries cannot start an attack on each other or participate in an aggressive war, they can only defend against each other
- bilateral agreement
Cost: Free
Duration: until revocation
Special notes:
1) Revocation takes 7 days to take effect
2) When NAP target attacks allied country, rules for alliance or MMPP apply over NAP
Guarantee Independence (for maximum 2 countries) - when target country attacked, automatically get involved on defender side without any WJ penalty
- unilateral agreement
Costs: Free
Duration: until revocation
Special notes:
Chance of getting "Guarantee" CB
Warning (against maximum 1 country) - warn a country not to start war against any of the neighbors
- unilateral agreement
Costs: Free
Duration: until revocation
Special notes:
Chance of getting "Warned" CB
Teleport Gate access - mutual ability to use each others teleport gates
- bilateral agreement
Costs: Free
Duration: until revocation
Special notes:
1) Only allowed to be signed with allied country
2) Teleport Gate maintenance costs are raised by 10% per ally
Countries can choose between the following economic agreements:
Free flow of workforce - unilateral agreement
- target country citizens can work in the initiator country without having citizenship there
Embargo - unilateral agreement
- import/export is forbidden with the target country
- countries fighting against each other in a war are automatically embargoed
Free trade - bilateral agreement
- no export-import taxes are applied between the two countries when trading with each other

This may seem a bit silly, but I cannot help thinking that the phrase "one-sided agreement" might be an oxymoron; doesn't there need to be at least two parties to have an agreement? If something is one-sided (or "unilateral" in diplomatic lingo) this would normally be considered more of a resolution, edict, proclamation, or other similar type of decree that does not require more than one party.
